How to Get High Quality Album Cover (Artwork) for any albums

Why do I want Album Cover?

I don’t know if you’ve ever encountered this problem. Sometimes you have a bunch of music files (…cough… how did you get them without album cover in the first place?) and you want to import them to iTunes and sync to your i-Devices.

Ok, done! Now you have all your favorite songs in your iTunes music library. And you think… “Wait a minute, this is really ugly!” If you think that way, you’re probably one of those that just can’t stand the white placeholders for your album cover. Having artworks can be really aesthetically appealing and just seems to somehow make your music sound nicer overall.

Alrighty, too much narrative already. I’ll just jump straight to my point: How can I get HQ Artwork for almost all albums? (At least for all albums that are available on iTunes)

Yo! Tutorial Starts Here!

So Here is the example of the format of the URL you could use to search for your desired artwork:

and term=V+Maroon+5 is the part of the URL you want to change.

In the above example, I’m trying to search the album “V” by Maroon 5 and simply use + as your “space bar” in the URL.

Personally, I recommend that you do term=<ALBUM NAME>+<ALBUM ARTIST NAME>.

Now, let’s move on! Once you have entered the correct URL, you should see something like this:

 "results": [
{"wrapperType":"collection", "collectionType":"Album", "artistId":1798556, "collectionId":993352739, "amgArtistId":529962, "artistName":"Maroon 5", "collectionName":"V (Deluxe)", "collectionCensoredName":"V (Deluxe)", "artistViewUrl":"https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/maroon-5/id1798556?uo=4", "collectionViewUrl":"https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/v-deluxe/id993352739?uo=4", "artworkUrl60":"https://is5.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Music7/v4/b3/fb/cc/b3fbcca9-85a0-c25d-cb20-feee4900bdb2/source/60x60bb.jpg", "artworkUrl100":"https://is5.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Music7/v4/b3/fb/cc/b3fbcca9-85a0-c25d-cb20-feee4900bdb2/source/100x100bb.jpg", "collectionPrice":14.99, "collectionExplicitness":"explicit", "contentAdvisoryRating":"Explicit", "trackCount":16, "copyright":"℗ 2015 Interscope Records", "country":"USA", "currency":"USD", "releaseDate":"2015-05-15T07:00:00Z", "primaryGenreName":"Pop"},

Then, just do a Control (Command for Mac) + F search in the browser to whittle down the results. Usually, like the example I’m giving you right now, the first result should be the one you are looking for if you have followed my recommended format above.

So, now you wanna look for the string “artworkUrl100” , which should be pretty easy to find. Then, immediately after that string, you see http://is5.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Music7/v4/b3/fb/cc/b3fbcca9-85a0-c25d-cb20-feee4900bdb2/source/100x100bb.jpg

I want you to copy that URL and change the ending from 100x100bb.jpg to 10000x10000bb.jpg. What this does is essentially giving you the link to the highest quality cover possible.

Now you’ve got the final link you need here:
